A marching band relies on leaders to lead their sections throughout rehearsal, performances, and other activities. It would be difficult for a band director to correct every band member on step accuracy, instrument angle, instrument carriage, coordinates, and other marching techniques.
Students interested in Drum Major, there will be auditions on Aug 12th, at 12pm after Drumline camp.
As Color/Winter Guard continues to grow and expand into competing on their own, leadership is needed.
Do not be afraid to apply for leadership. As you have experienced, our goal is to train you not only with guard skills but to build your confidence as an individual and as a team. That includes Honesty, Dependability, Responsibility, Respect of Authority, Respect of Peers, and ability to work well in all situations. We are here to help you build and practice those skills. Your instructors will teach you and your former leaders (alumni) will be available to help you.
