A marching band relies on leaders to lead their sections throughout rehearsal, performances, and other activities. It would be difficult for a band director to correct every band member on step accuracy, instrument angle, instrument carriage, coordinates, and other marching techniques.

DRUM MAJOR AUDITIONS - For current sophomores/juniors interested in auditioning for the 2026-2027 Junior/Senior drum major positions:

Drum Major Workshop: May 11th @ 1:30 to 2:30
Learn basics for drum major conducting and can get answers to any questions about the audition process. Open to anyone, not just those who will be auditioning this year. Not required, but it is recommended for those auditioning.

Applications Due: May 22nd
Interviews/Auditions: Week of May 25th to 29th
Every candidate will interview with Mr. Petty 1 on 1 as well as conduct class.

Results Posted: June 1st
